What is Mediation?
Mediation is a sensitive and confidential process in which a trained Mediator helps a separating couple or family to examine and consider any issues that they may wish to resolve in the context of separation or divorce.
What does Mediation cover?
At BFM an experienced Mediator can help separating couples and families resolve:
What is involved?
Either one or both parties contact BFM to discuss mediation. Sometimes referrals are made through Solicitors
Once both parties have decided to proceed with mediation our appointed Mediator in a totally impartial role, arranges a first mediation meeting involving both parties and the Mediator
At the first mediation meeting involving both parties and the Mediator the issues to be resolved are identified, along with documents or information needed, followed by discussion, sharing of ideas and negotiation
Each mediation meeting usually lasts for one and a half hours and the number of meetings depends on the complexity of the issues involved
On average two to five mediation sessions are usual, although each case is individual and it may be more or less
Both parties are encouraged to take their own legal advice from Solicitors at various stages throughout the process
Upon decisions being reached Mediation Summaries recordings matters resolved are produced by BFM
Benefits of Mediation?
At BFM we charge an hourly rate per couple for the mediation meetings or sessions for production of the documents recording matters resolved at conclusion.
We DO NOT charge for letters or telephone calls.
Where does mediation take place?
At BFM our mediation sessions are normally held at either The Bull Pen Home Farm Bicester or at Bloxham Mill Business Park near Banbury .
We are however, able to make alternative arrangements and will be very pleased to offer flexibility.
